This one takes the cake! A Birthday Party Mom decided to have her sons party at "Dry Gulch" again (second year in a row). After another successful party, she came to the store to pay for her event, and enthusiastically stated that it was yet another overwhelming success! About ten days later we received a letter from this same mom who blasted us by calling us every name in the book for hitting her with hidden charges totaling about $8.00. We looked into the matter and found that the $8.00 in question was the state sales tax! (which was clearly indicated on the receipt)
Someone please tell this uninformed mom that everything, and we mean everything in the state of NY gets hit with a sales tax. The retailer does not get to keep this fee for a down payment on a reclusive resort get-away and other "pleasures", but our governor does! (at least the one that just got booted out of his office)
