Sometimes it just catches you by surprise... Things are going along smoothly at a birthday party that is filled with four, five, and six year old children. I'm at the stage when I talk to the kids about the gemstones that they will be digging for, and how to fill their pouches with as many gems as possible. Out of the blue a small boy asks what happens when the pouches get full, and I reply, "just put the larger arrowheads and quartz crystals in your pocket, this will leave more room in your pouches". At that point, all heck brakes loose. One lil' peanut says, "I've got two pockets, another says, "I've got five pockets", and before you know it a sea of children are shouting out how many pockets they have... each trying to one-up the previous one!
Now it occurred to me that in the midst of a stock market leaving all but the bizillionaires high and dry, and more debt in the world than there are grains of sand on all of the beaches; these unpretentious tykes were caught up in the most important topic of their tiny worlds... who had the most pockets.
I guess everything is relative after all!
