Isn't it a shame that we now have created a business world where deceit is the norm? Case in point... For the past ten years we have been working with a group of kids that are sent to Dry Gulch Field Trips via a Summer camp program. The owner of the facility had always assured us that she was legit with an Employee Id# for Sales tax purposes. This also 'assured her' that our special courtesy to schools, day cares, scouting groups, and Summer Rec Groups would be applied: (the $45 mining fee is waived).
This season we insisted on recording her tax #, and when she couldn't provide one, she turned the tables on us, stating that we were purposely putting a financial burden on 'her'. Although it is common knowledge to the thousands of parents who have children in these (summer camp ) types of programs, that the 'parents pay' for the field trips on a weekly basis, and that is above and beyond the cost of the camp program.
There are hundreds of good and honest people who call us for "Gem Mine Field Trips" each season. Some are new and have not received and/or applied for the tax ID#, but they happily pay the $45 Mine Fee. They understand completely that in order to qualify for the Tax Exempt Status and Waiver, an official State Issued I.D. Number must be provided... What's Fair Is Fair! Otherwise, every mom with a group of neighborhood kids could claim 'day care' status!
Our Prices are so reasonable it's almost laughable: (especially in this day and age)
$6.00 per miner for two private hours of non-stop FUN in the Dry Gulch Gem Mine, and all the Gemstones that you can find are yours to keep! We provide: a velveteen pouch, a welcome sign to your individual group or organization, games, prizes, and gift bags at no additional charge!!!
All "Private" groups and/or organizations are subject to paying sales tax and a $45 'Mine' Fee (Bona Fide Groups e.g. schools, day care, summer rec, scouts... must present a State I.D.# for the Mine Fee Waiver and Sales Tax Waiver)
